Meet The Greeks App at Purdue University Featured

I loved reading this article in The Exponent this morning. Kudos to the Greek Community at Purdue University for developing a new app to make it easier for students to see what events are being held by chapters on campus during recruitment and helping potential new members to get involved. The investment in such an app is relatively minimal, but the payoff is big. I would love to see more Universities adopt a similar strategy. By demystifying the process to get involved with Greek Life and going straight to their cell phones, Purdue is engaging their students in a vibrant part of student life. It really doesn’t surprise me to see so many loyal alumni coming from Purdue!

Lambda Chi Alpha Raises over 3.4 Million Pounds of Food in Fall 2015 Featured

This press release that went out this morning from Lambda Chi Alpha is just amazing. The fraternity brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha started their partnership with Feeding America in 2013, and since then, have raised more than 9.5 million pounds of food. Given the very real problem that so many in this country face, that 1 in 7 Americans face hunger each day, that is just an incredible accomplishment. They are demonstrating to their University and to their community the importance of the core values of Lambda Chi Alpha, not just in speech, but in action. Well done!

A Good Day for Torie: SAE and ZTA at UNC Charlotte Featured

Torie Costa attends Hough High in Huntersville, NC. She is a member of the DECA club at school. She has many friends, loves the color pink and lives life to the fullest. Torie relapsed in June 2015 and is fighting once again. Her main struggle this time is fluid filling the pleura space on the left side, therefore crushing her lung. She had surgery on 12/7/15 to perform a pleuradesis to stop the fluid from accumulating. On 12/8/15, she went into respiratory distress and ended up in PICU. It has been a struggle thus far, but it appears she is turning the corner and will beat the ARDS brought on by the surgery. Now all she has to beat is the cancer. She did it once before, she can do it again! Thanks to SAE and ZTA at UNC Charlotte for their support, well done! Check out the video below:
