David Crocker: What are the benefits of community service to the students and the orgs who serve?

Our next guest is David Crocker! Most people believe serving others is a nice thing to do, but it doesn’t really make any difference. David knows serving others is an overlooked but powerful change agent to make our communities better places to live. He knows there is no area of life that a serving mindset cannot improve. Having worked with thousands of people over 15 years motivating and equipping them to serve others, David is considered an expert in this field. His work spans 25 states and 4 countries and continues to spread. He has appeared on WRAL-TV, WBIRTV, WATE-TV, WRJZ-Radio, and published numerous articles. He’s the author of the book “Compassionaries: Unleash the Power of Serving”.

In episode 238 of the Fraternity Foodie Podcast, we find out how David equipped over 2,300 congregations in 25 states and four countries with the Inasmuch model of compassion ministry, why students need to be thinking about what they are doing and the transformational power of serving, whether this trend of service to others will continue to grow with Gen Z, the benefits of serving to the students and the organizations who serve, the characteristics of those who serve, the challenges of serving, how student organizations can determine which organization in the community is the best one in the community to serve, and how students can use their service opportunities to attract more like-minded students into their organizations. Enjoy!
