After a University of Washington student and Theta Chi brother died of brain cancer in 2006, the brothers of the chapter started the Kyle Charvat Foundation to assist and bring awareness to college-aged cancer patients. According to this article, the nonprofit organization helps to pay for their expenses, medications, physical therapy, and transportation to and from their treatments.  The current president of the chapter clearly sees the connection between the mission of the fraternity and his own role in helping others. The 40 day bike ride will help to raise at least $20,000 towards the Kyle Charvat Foundation. Way to go, and keep up the great work!
