Will Yank is a 2020 graduate from Wabash College who is also a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. At 21 years old, he was diagnosed with leukemia and septic shock, and now he speaks on reclaiming hope, something that is a very important lesson for us all to consider when life throws us a curveball and we start to feel pain, failure, or regret. Today we’re going to hope for something.
In episode 581 of the Fraternity Foodie Podcast, we find out why Will decided on Wabash College, what made him want to join Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, what it was like to be diagnosed with leukemia and septic shock at 21 years old, why hope is more than just a “feel-good” emotion, why having a future vision so important for college students today, what we can do for students who feel like they have no one to lean on, how students can turn past pain, failure, or regret into a teacher instead of a burden, how to support members going through difficult mental health or life challenges, what is one action students can take right now to reclaim a sense of hope, and what his legacy will be for this generation of college students. Enjoy!
