Michelle Rupp is an EMMY Award–winning broadcast journalist, speaker, and communication strategist who knows exactly what it takes to be heard.

With more than 25 years in television news, Michelle has spent her career learning what makes people listen, trust, and take action. She is the Founder and CEO of Memorable Results Media and has helped countless business owners grow their visibility, revenue, and confidence. Simply by learning how to communicate more effectively.

Michelle grew up in a family-owned hardware store, where she learned early on that success isn’t about being the biggest it’s about being clear. A heart disease survivor, marathon runner, and recipient of both an EMMY and an Edward R. Murrow Award for reporting, Michelle brings resilience, authenticity, and real-world insight to everything she teaches.

Michelle has a B.A. in Communications from the University of Central Arkansas, a B.S. in Meteorology from Mississippi State University and is an Alpha Sigma Alpha. During her time in Beta Lambda, Michelle served as Philanthropy Chair, PR and Parliamentarian. Michelle has returned several times to serve A∑A in various advisory roles and as a District Leader in the early 2000s. She was featured in a two-page article in The Phoenix in 2014 and 2026. In 2025, Michelle served as a blog contributor and was a guest on Alpha Connect Sisterhood Series a podcast produced by A∑A National Headquarters.

Greek organizations offer so much good to their communities through philanthropy, yet those stories are rarely told. Creating positive publicity with the local college town media is easy to achieve. Many reporters are Greek alumni themselves and would enjoy telling the story of a donation to the nonprofit of choice or volunteering with a group of elementary students.

In a time when, sadly, the only time fraternities or sororities end up in the press is for something negative, it's time to flip the script. Drawing on over 2 decades worth of newsroom experience, the audience will learn what makes a good story great! All in how you tell it.

Learning Objectives:
-Students walk away understanding the components of a compelling story.
-Students learn how to identify one or two events a year to pitch to local and campus news.
-Students understand how to pitch their story in a timely manner to increase the rate of the story being featured.

Presentation, poise, and leverage Greek leadership skills into real-world experience. Building relationships, overseeing thousands of dollars in budgets, and juggling multiple events in a semester are examples of skills that translate into networking, accounting, and project management. Greek life experience is extremely valuable, especially when positioned correctly.

When it comes to interviewing, most Gen-Zers are interviewing with Gen-X and Millennials. There are certain expectations hiring managers have. From a strong handshake to eye contact, to communication skills, what you put on your resume is as important as how you handle an interview.

Learning Objectives:
-Students walk away understanding how to document their leadership experience in a meaningful way on their resume.
-Students will be empowered to reach out to their alumni/alumnae for support in their chosen field.
-Students will know how to present with excellence, making a memorable first impression with poise and confidence (not arrogance).

In today’s competitive job market, technical skills alone aren’t enough. Employers consistently report that one of the biggest challenges with Gen Z hires is effective communication. For fraternity and sorority members entering the workforce, mastering communication, speaking up in meetings, handling tough conversations, and presenting ideas confidently is one of the most important leadership skills they can develop.

“Say It Like a Leader” is an engaging, practical program designed to help students strengthen the communication habits employers are actively looking for. Participants will learn how to transition from casual, text-based communication to professional, confident interactions in interviews, internships, and the workplace. Through real-world examples, interactive activities, and strategies students can implement immediately, attendees will walk away with the tools to communicate clearly, build stronger relationships, and stand out as future leaders in their careers.

- Recognize the communication gaps employers commonly identify with Gen Z and understand how improving these skills directly impacts hiring, promotions, and career success.
- Develop practical strategies for communicating professionally in emails, meetings, interviews, and difficult conversations with supervisors, coworkers, and clients.
- Build confidence in verbal communication by learning techniques for speaking clearly, contributing ideas in group settings, and presenting themselves as leaders.
- Apply relationship-building communication skills such as active listening, constructive feedback, and emotional intelligence to strengthen teamwork within their chapter and future workplace.
